Role

Pro Player Connect is seeking an experienced direct and multi-channel marketer.  This is a key contributor position that will be vital to helping PPC achieve its business and financial objectives. Responsibilities include the development and execution of digital marketing programs that drive awareness of the PPC online destination, ensure sustained and continued growth of site traffic, build engaged communities around our member athletes and drive revenue for all stakeholders. The ideal candidate is innovative and creative, with the skills to develop new models and deliver compelling strategies that drive athlete, business and consumer acquisition and retention.  The successful candidate will be highly proficient in online and lifestyle marketing; will possess a deep understanding of direct-to-consumer marketing and technology, and has the experience and knowledge to strategize, plan, prioritize and successfully execute marketing initiatives. Must subscribe to permission marketing principles and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, start-up environment where daily priorities and responsibilities are likely to shift as the team and business evolve.

Responsibilities

Duties Include
  • Develop and execute aggressive, innovative marketing strategies that are aligned with PPC’s business objectives
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
  • Identify and report on key and meaningful success metrics, and propose ways to improve performance to help achieve financial objectives and business objectives
  • Identify and support unique sponsorship and promotional opportunities for PPC members and their products and/or brands
  • Build, manage and motivate a marketing team in accordance with the PPC Business Plan
  • Understand and stay current with the industry; setting the bar for innovation and excellence
  • Day-to-day management of all of the company’s online and partner strategic marketing programs; day-to-day management of the company’s search engine, IM and vertical partners
  • Campaign planning and management, variability testing, full campaign analysis, ROI optimization and reporting
  • Banner and landing page creative development, testing, tracking and conversion optimization
  • Expertise on internal and 3rd party ad serving and tracking tools (as appropriate)
  • Ability to identify and arrange participation in key industry events, speaking engagements and as a member of select panels, with a POV; contribute articles to industry publications

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years diverse experience in entertainment/sports new media marketing, including team management experience
  • Demonstrated success at developing and executing relevant marketing strategies and programs. Samples of programs with similar objectives and success criteria will be requested
  • Demonstrated P&L business leadership, strong operational focus and sound financial judgment
  • Disciplined, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to predict and adapt to market trends; strong attention to detail and tactical execution of plans
  • Creative thinker with understanding of visual and messaging techniques
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple, shifting priorities while demonstrating a high patience threshold
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in the new media marketing industry.
  • Ability to envision beyond traditional service models; not be limited by traditional thinking or previous service models
  • Demonstrated understanding of online social networking, direct-to-consumer digital marketing, online commerce, mobile applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership capacity as well as individual contributor
  • Candidate must demonstrate integrity, motivation, initiative, dependability, organizational skills and strong commercial judgment
  • Candidate must be able to work in a startup company environment
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (MBA preferred)
